Frequently Asked Questions

General

We are based in Orlando, FL and serve clients throughout Florida. Whether you're planning a wedding in Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville, or right here in Central Florida — we'd love to be part of your day. Travel fees may apply for events more than 60 miles from Orlando.

Our style sits at the intersection of editorial and documentary — clean, cinematic, and emotionally driven. We focus on real moments rather than overly posed setups, using natural light as much as possible to create images and films that feel timeless rather than trendy. Think quiet in-between moments, genuine laughter, and light that tells a story.

We offer photography and videography as separate packages. As a small, dedicated team we focus on one at a time — giving each service our full attention to ensure the highest quality results. Whether you're looking for a stunning photo gallery or a cinematic wedding film, you'll get our complete focus on your day.

Yes, and we love them. Elopements and micro weddings allow for an incredibly intimate experience where we can focus entirely on the two of you. Whether it's a sunrise ceremony at a Florida beach, a courthouse elopement, or a backyard gathering of 20 people — we're in.

Absolutely and wholeheartedly. Love is love, and we are honored to document every couple's story regardless of orientation, identity, or background. All are welcome here.

Absolutely. We offer a complimentary consultation — in person in the Orlando area or via video call — to get to know each other, walk through your vision, and make sure we're the right fit for your day.

Booking & Availability

We recommend booking at least 6–12 months in advance for weddings, especially for peak season dates (October–April in Florida). Portrait and videography sessions can typically be booked with shorter notice. Reach out early to secure your date — we only take a limited number of events per year to ensure each client gets our full dedication.

Gerardo Valenzuela will be your lead photographer or videographer on the day — always. We never outsource your event to an associate or a team member you haven't met. What you see in the portfolio is what you get on your wedding day.

Yes! Engagement sessions are a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day, and they give us a chance to build rapport before the big event. Portrait sessions for individuals, couples, and families are also available year-round. Reach out to discuss options.

Yes, and we highly recommend it. A well-planned timeline makes a huge difference in the quality of your photos and film. We'll provide guidance on how much time to allocate for portraits, golden hour, family formals, and everything in between. We're happy to review your draft timeline and offer suggestions based on our experience.

Pricing & Payments

Booking is secured with a signed contract and an initial retainer. We also offer flexible payment plans so you can spread the remaining balance over time leading up to your event. We accept all major payment methods including Venmo, Zelle, and credit card. Reach out and we'll work out a plan that fits your budget.

Life happens — we understand. Rescheduling requests are handled on a case-by-case basis and subject to availability. The initial retainer is non-refundable as it reserves your date exclusively. Full cancellation policies are outlined clearly in your contract. If you have concerns, reach out and we'll always do our best to find a solution.

Send us a message anyway. We offer flexible payment plans and are always happy to have an honest conversation about what's possible. We'd rather find a way to work together than have budget be the reason we can't document your day.

On the Day

We're in Florida — rain is part of the deal, and honestly some of the most beautiful images come from overcast skies and dramatic light. We come prepared with gear that handles the elements, and we'll adapt the plan on the fly. Rain doesn't stop us; it often makes for more interesting photos.

While it has never happened, we take this seriously. We maintain a trusted network of professional photographers and videographers in the Orlando area who we would contact in a true emergency. You would be notified immediately and your event would not go uncovered. This is also detailed in your contract so you always have peace of mind.

Always. We arrive at every event with backup camera bodies, lenses, batteries, memory cards, and lighting. Equipment failure is never an excuse to miss a moment, so we prepare for it before it can happen.

For full-day coverage (8+ hours), a vendor meal is greatly appreciated and we'll typically eat during your dinner service when activity is lower. It helps us stay energized and at our best through the end of your reception. Please coordinate with your catering team if possible — most venues are familiar with this.

For family formals and any must-have moments, yes — and we actually encourage it. A list of specific family groupings helps us move through formals efficiently and ensures no one is missed. For the rest of the day we prefer to stay in the moment and capture things as they unfold naturally, rather than working through a rigid checklist.

Deliverables

For a full wedding day we typically deliver between 400–700 fully edited images depending on the length and flow of the day. We focus on quality over quantity — every image in your gallery is intentionally selected and color-graded, not just a mass export of everything shot.

Wedding galleries are typically delivered within 4–6 weeks. Wedding films take 6–10 weeks. Portrait sessions are usually ready within 1–2 weeks. You'll receive a sneak peek within 48–72 hours of your session or wedding day.

Photos are delivered via a private online gallery where you can download full-resolution images, share with family, and order prints directly. Films are delivered as a private video link you can download and keep forever. We recommend downloading everything to a personal hard drive as a backup.

Your gallery will remain active for at least one year from delivery. We strongly recommend downloading your full gallery and saving copies in multiple places — cloud storage, an external hard drive, or both. Your memories are irreplaceable and we want to make sure they're protected long-term.

We do not deliver RAW files. Editing is an essential part of our creative process — the color grading, tone, and feel of the final images are part of what makes our work ours. Think of it the way a chef wouldn't hand you raw ingredients instead of the finished dish.

You're welcome to suggest songs or artists that feel meaningful to you, and we take those suggestions seriously. All music used is properly licensed to protect your film from being taken down on social media or YouTube. We'll work with you to find something that fits both the mood of your day and licensing requirements.

Copyright & Privacy

Valenzuela Film retains the copyright to all images and films as the creator. However, you receive a full personal use license which allows you to print, share, and post your photos and films freely for non-commercial purposes. You never need to ask permission to share your own wedding photos.

We may share select images or a film excerpt on our website, Instagram, or TikTok as part of our portfolio. If you prefer to remain private, simply let us know before your event and we will honor that fully — no questions asked. Your comfort always comes first.

We carry general liability insurance. Many venues in Florida require vendors to provide a certificate of insurance before the event — just let us know your venue's requirements and we'll coordinate. Certificates are available upon request.

Still have questions? We'd love to hear from you.
